Each Monday we post a short passage of scripture with questions to help you start the week off well.
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:1-2)
The wise men, or magi, came to Jesus after his birth. Being from Persia (modern day Iran), they traveled a great distance to meet He who was born King of the Jews.
Consider the passage and think about these questions as you start your day.
- Why would the magi, who were not Jewish and were not expecting a Messiah, go to such lengths to meet Jesus?
- Have you met Jesus? What can you do to get to know Him better?
